This study aimed to examine the acute effects of a standard dynamic stretching (DS) exercise protocol on vertical jump performance and neuromuscular activation. Ten licensed male soccer players with a mean age of 21.20 ± 3.16 years participated in the study. DS exercises targeting five different muscle groups (plantar flexors, hip extensors, hamstrings, hip flexors, and quadriceps) were applied to the participants. Countermovement Jump (CMJ) and Squat Jump (SJ) tests were performed before and after the protocol, and surface electromyography (sEMG) recordings were taken simultaneously from the Vastus Lateralis (VL), Vastus Medialis (VM), and Biceps Femoris (BF) muscles. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was used for data analysis. No statistically significant change was observed in CMJ (p=0.093) and SJ (p=0.649) jump heights following the DS protocol. Similarly, no statistically significant difference was detected in the activation levels of VL, VM, and BF muscles and the VM/VL ratio during the jump tests (p>0.05). As a result, it was determined that the standard DS protocol preserved vertical jump performance in male soccer players and did not cause any acute changes in neuromuscular activation.
